A Message from our Principal Our students in Action

Whether you are looking for mainstream academic courses, Knowledge and Employability programs,Career and Technology Studies, Athletics or Fine Arts,

Fort McMurray Composite High School has something for you. We are the Miners, a name that represents us well: like real miners we are always in search of what is precious. The hallowed halls of our school are a rich source of precious talent, skill, strength and passion that are represented clearly in all that work and study we do.  It is no wonder that our alumni include such successful people as Melissa Blake (Mayor of the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo); Brian Jean (Member of Parliament); Chris Phillips (Ottawa Senators); and Aaron Lines(Country Music star). We look forward to the next thirty years of Miner PRIDE and are confident that the 2008 - 2009 school year will be a tremendously successful one for us all.

Mr. Tony Zeglen, Principal

Guluwalk 2008
gulu

On Sunday, October 25th, Fort McMurray Composite High School students, inspired by the gripping tales of the night commuters, joined over 30,000 people in cities world wide to walk for the children of Northern Uganda.

A big thanks to these community minded Miners under the guidance of Mr. Larry Newan and Mr. Sheldon Dahl for showing us all that ordinary citizens can be a force for good.

Even in times of relative peace, Canadian men and women continue to serve in conflicts around the world. A total of 98 Canadians have been killed in Afghanistan since 2002.

Lest we forget.
